‘Time has come’ for 54-year-old Columbus restaurant to move. Here’s the new spot
In August, rumors circulated online about the relocation of a popular restaurant in Columbus. Now, the owners have spoken out.
The owners of Golden Chopsticks announced they are closing their location at 3846 St. Marys Road. They are moving into the former Zombie Pig BBQ space at 6201 Veterans Parkway, confirming previous rumors.
Their last day at the St. Marys Road location is Sept. 4, according to another statement posted on their Facebook page. No opening date for the new location has been announced.
Owners of Golden Chopsticks announced the relocation through a statement posted on their Facebook page.
“The time has come for us to relocate our services to the north end of town,” the post says. “We extend an invitation to the community to join us for a farewell meal at St. Mary’s Rd. location before we permanently cease operations at this site. …This location holds so many memories, so please come by before we close our doors.”
Rumors swirled about the relocation in July after signage for a “Golden Chopstix” restaurant went up at 6201 Veterans Parkway. It was unclear to customers whether the two restaurants were connected because of the slightly different spellings. On Aug. 23, the owners responded to rumors on Facebook, saying that they will remain open at their St. Marys location “until further notice.” Six days later, they announced the relocation.
Golden Chopsticks has been open at its St. Marys Road in Columbus for 54 years. The restaurant is a popular spot for Columbus foodies, with raving reviews.
Owners of Golden Chopsticks did not respond to the Ledger-Enquirer’s request for comment.
