St. Francis Hospital CEO resigns. Here are the details.
The CEO of St. Francis Hospital has resigned, hospital officials confirmed Thursday.
Dan Jones’ last day at St. Francis was Jan. 6. He announced his resignation in December and left the post to pursue other career opportunities, officials said.
Jones was named St. Francis’ CEO in November 2017. Before serving at St. Francis, Jones worked for hospitals or health care companies in Phoenix, Kansas City, New Orleans and Charlotte.
Jerry Dooley is serving as interim CEO for St. Francis as a national search to replace Jones begins.
The leadership transition is one of several changes currently taking place at St. Francis.
Emory University announced Jan. 8 that St. Francis would be owned by Emory Healthcare and LifePoint Health. It is the first facility owned by the joint venture, according to an Emory news release. In September 2019, St. Francis became an affiliate of the Emory Healthcare Network, which expanded upon an already existing relationship. LifePoint Health purchased St. Francis in 2016.
The joint venture is a new entity, and representatives from both Emory Healthcare and LifePoint Health will sit on the governing board, according to the Emory news release.
Jones’ departure was not related to the ownership announcement, said Becky Young, the director of marketing and communications for St. Francis.
