A bizarre case that once unfolded in rural Georgia is headed back into the spotlight.

In 2004, a naked, injured man was found behind a Burger King in Richmond, Georgia claiming he couldn’t remember his life or identify. He was admitted to the hospital in Savannah as “Burger King Doe.”

For years, B.K. Doe, who eventually took the name Benjaman Kyle, was known as one of the few Americans officially listed as “unknown.” His case drew national attention and deep local curiosity, as he lived for years without a confirmed identity.

He relied on the kindness of strangers and investigators trying to piece together his past.

More than two decades later, the story of “Benjaman Kyle” is getting a two-night documentary from the producers of the popular series “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace” on Investigation Discovery. Producers say this is far more than a story about amnesia or forgotten identity.

Investigation Discovery will air, “The Many Lives of Benjaman Kyle,” on May 25 and May 26, which claims to go beyond the medical mystery of Kyle’s origin story and dig into mysteries of his life.

According to the network, filmmakers uncovered inconsistencies that led them into a web of deception, unsolved cold cases and alleged ties to a Midwestern crime family.

The Many Lives of Benjaman Kyle airs from 9 to 11 p.m. ET on Investigation Discovery, with episodes also available to stream on HBO Max.
