Here’s the Ledger-Enquirer’s 2019 all-Bi-City volleyball team, players, coach of the year

The story lines are abundant on the Ledger-Enquirer’s 2019 all-Bi-City fall volleyball team.

Northside accomplished a perfect region record and made it to the Elite Eight of the 4A playoffs after a 34-win season. Columbus, Hardaway and Shaw also made the tournament, with both the Blue Devils and Raiders making it to the second round.

Kendrick, Harris County, Pacelli and Brookstone also each made appearances in their respective state tournaments.

With so many talented players and coaches, there were plenty of nominees for this year’s all-Bi-City volleyball roster. Here is the team:

TOP INDIVIDUAL HONORS

Player of the Year: Columbus senior Sydney Blackmon

Offensive Player of the Year: Northside senior Nevaeh Edwards

Defensive Player of the Year: Northside senior libero Berkleigh Davidson

Coach of the Year: Northside’s Cassia Roper

FIRST TEAM

Libero: Columbus senior Eleanor Todd

Outside hitters: Columbus senior Ashley Cox, Northside senior Savannah Ogle and Central sophomore Morgan Ficklin.

Middle hitters: Brookstone sophomore Emma Clark and Shaw senior Cydney Thomas.

Setters: Harris County junior Ali Archilla and Kendrick sophomore Mersadies Sistrunk.

HONORABLE MENTIONS

Northside -- Madison Cox, Paige Lowe, Ah’Miah Harris.

Brookstone -- Hailey Todt

Smiths Station -- Grace Allen.

Calvary Christian -- Andrea Hurt, Isabelle Valldeperas, Alyssa Scoggins.

Glenwood -- Katie Jones, Josie Miller.

Columbus -- Maddi Carson, Virginia Dozier.

Kendrick -- Tyeesha Slaughter, Jaila King, Shamari Clark.

Harris County -- Alyse Braddy, Hannah Barden, Abigayle Hardwick, Haygen Holloman.

Shaw -- Jasmine Santiago, Jerica Jackson.
