A 43-year-old woman was shot and killed early Monday on Meloy Drive, said Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.

Ruby Lloyd was pronounced dead on the scene at 2:05 a.m. Monday. Her body will be transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab in Decatur for an autopsy.

Columbus police were called to the scene at 33 Meloy Drive at 1:55 a.m. to investigate the shooting. Lt. Greg Touchberry said they are still in the early stages of the investigation, but Lloyd’s death is being investigated as a homicide.

No arrest warrants have been issued.
