Columbus police searching for homicide victim’s companion
Columbus police are searching for the live-companion of a 43-year-old woman who was fatally shot early Monday at a Meloy Drive residence.
Authorities said Ruby Lloyd’s family had not heard from her hours before she was found dead around 1:30 a.m. Monday in a residence at 33 Meloy Drive. Her 2011 Ford F-150 was missing from the home.
The four-door vehicle is either light brown or bronze. It has a Georgia tag that reads PVY 1284, Lt. Greg Touchberry said in a news release.
Officials are looking to question 42-year-old Cory Hill, who was the victim’s live-in companion at the time of her death. His whereabouts are unknown.
Touchberry described him as as a black man who is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 157 pounds.
Anyone with information about this incident or Hill’s whereabouts is asked to call Sgt. Dan Lyon at 706-225-4422 or dlyon@columbusga.org.
Lloyd’s death marks the 17th homicide in Columbus and the 15th investigated by police. She was killed three days after 18-year-old Richard Vaughn Cummings Jr. was fatally shot Friday night while in the front seat of a car on Farr Road.
